ABOUT US

Grow the game.

The Newcastle Rugby League contributes to the development of male and female rugby league within the Hunter region. As the largest Rugby League nursery in New South Wales, the strength of the league is evident and continuously growing.

From 2018, the Newcastle Rugby League has been affiliated with one of the nation’s strongest brands, the New South Wales Rugby League. Our first-grade competition is the only NSWRL major competition out of the Sydney metropolitan area.

With a rich history dating back to 1910, rugby league is a community-based sport enjoyed by players and fans alike. Newcastle Rugby League volunteers are essential to the game and are greatly appreciated. Our league is directed by a board who oversee the competitions involving nine district clubs.

Our mission is to grow the game in the Newcastle region and continue to develop rugby league’s position in Newcastle and around the globe.
